In the tintinabulation of well wishers
I take my stance
Always the same
Rooted in what is
Dreaming of What might be.
Time takes us forward
We meet a person
We ride the tide of the world
We ride our own tide
Effortlessly
Time does not remember
The waves of tears and sorrows
Only our beating hearts
Stagnant like a camel
Remembers the losses.
I walk on rainbow feet
The demons of yesteryear
Are gone
As a Jew,
As a woman who cares,
As a poet whose words,
Are heard around the world,
As a human being who feels suffering,
As a lover who never stops loving,
As the tall trees speak to me
As testament and reason
Sometimes win.
