In the interim

 the wave of memory touches my shoulder

   my Mother's kitchen

We were all together

Breakfast was my favorite meal

Bacon and eggs

or delicious French toast

We sat at the glass table

  with a table cloth

the toaster near by

the bird singing in the corner

the New York Times before my father

We discussed the events of the day

We were always talking

Now, my grand kids together

Outside a glass table

Owen and Peter weaving on a loom

Evie playing with bubbles

The umbrella up

Talking always talking

as the sun streamed

on a 73 degree early Spring afternoon
